Benefits of Image Guided Intervention
Often referred to as “pinhole surgery”, image guided procedures are the most minimally invasive procedures performed in medicine today. The procedures are performed through a tiny nick in the skin as opposed to large open incisions previously required. This makes the procedures safer and significantly decreases pain and recovery times. The majority of our procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis with no hospitalization required and minimal downtime.

As with most of our procedures, kyphoplasty is performed on an outpatient basis through a tiny nick in the skin. The procedure requires only minimal “twilight” sedation, not general anesthesia. The procedure takes about 30 min and patients go home a few hours later.
